Strangers Again

Have you ever had an experience wondering what it would be like if you get to know someone? At some point in our life we met unexpected people that brought out the best and worst of us. Someone who showed us how it feels to be valued, desired, appreciated, respected, and loved. I know that as you were reading this one name appears in your head and they still hold a special place in your heart. You know that you will continue to silently admire them despite the weeks, months and years of not talking again. You know that you will continue to treasure those memories you created with them because you know at that time it was genuine. You get to feel the most exciting and carefree version of yourself with them. With that someone, you get to see a clearer view of life. Both the most beautiful and awful things that life can offer.

The two of you witnessed each other’s fear, brokenness, and scars that you’re so afraid to show to the world. You learn to accept your differences and start to heal. You acknowledge the imperfection of one another as you go through each chapter of life. You continue to talk with that someone, you learn more about yourself and how influential you can be. You continue to pursue life with determination as you two thrive for your dreams. However, like any other things in life you too started to fade. The 4 hours of nonstop talking turned into 1 word chat. The everyday how-are-you’s turned into missed calls and unread messages. Until such time your words of encouragement are no longer kind but a hurtful stabbing word. The longer you hold onto your pain and misunderstanding, the faster you are letting go. As you look back now, it truly hurt you but you now know that it is necessary for you to grow.

If life will ever allow the two of you to cross each other’s path again, that someone will give you the longest hug and warmest smile. You may lose words to say, but you will find the most special someone who continues to care and wishes you the best even in distance.
